Alteration

Alteration is any work or works undertaken on the premises that would result in an alteration to the physical structure or layout of the premises.

Alteration is often classified as structural and non-structural. Structural alteration normally results in a permanent change to the original or previous structure. Non-structural alteration is a temporary alteration or change that would be easily reinstated without affecting the physical structure. For example, demountable partitions in an office building would be considered non-structural alteration.
