I have been a wholefood organic vegetarian for over thirty years; my interests include healing, counselling, photography, and local history.
In 1980, I created Marketing Yourself, a blend of business and self-development philosophy on holistic principles. I own the company, Marketing Yourself Ltd, also marketingyourself.co.uk/.uk. (And soon to be launched healthylivingmalvern.uk - a joint venture for business people.)
Other spare-time ventures have included Weekend Friends - a not-for-profit singles club that I co-organised for 3 years: reckoned to be one of the best in London, at peak WF had 120 members and through WF several people paired up - and Healthy Living Ltd trading as The Healthy Living Centre at which for about 5 years I co-organised workshops facilitated by leading lights of the mind-body-spirit movement.
In Ledbury, I have served on the committees of Friends of Dymock Poets (Membership Secretary, 1993-1994) and Ledbury Badminton Club (Secretary 1994-2006, 2017-2019 ). In 1995, I chaired the Ledbury Carnival committee and introduced a blueprint that successive organisers of Ledbury Carnival have used since. It was my suggestion to have a poetry festival in Ledbury. From 2009 to 2011, I was Chairman and Director of Ledbury and District Society Trust Ltd, a registered charity and civic society with more than 440 members and owning two heritage buildings. I am the founder of Ledbury History Society. In 2012, I was invited to author “Ledbury through Time”, one of a national series of photographic local history books published by Amberley Publishing and available from all good bookshops, Amazon or direct from Amberley Publishing.
I am a Life Member of the National Trust and a Life Member of the Institute of Directors.
I contribute to professional wisdom and market intelligence for the commercial property market by writing about rent reviews, business tenancies, and retail property. I am a guest writer on Landlordzone. and a guest editor for Property Law UK, a high-quality magazine and long-established online resource for UK Property Law.
